This is something that is so easy to do, yet is so needed.

maybe this sort of things can be included with Maratis by default, or at least having them on the wiki, with other not so primitive assets/Entities big_smile

The Best Blender Tutorial, or course i have ever seen is this one:

http://gryllus.net/Blender/3D.html

That covers all the Basics. for more fancy stuff, probably consult CGCookie, or Blender Tuts.

I have been creating a few Mock Screenshots for thinks i would like to see eventually being implemented on Maratis, and i have  places a few of them in the Issue Tracker as Feature Request, however i do have a question for Anael, and the Team.

Do you guys like the ideas, should I continue posting them (i have like 6 more all for the editor), shoud i PM first with the Mock Screenshot and post after you guys give me the thumbs up?

I truly dont mean to intrude, i have 0 C/C++ experience hence will likely wont be able to implement such ideas, but i can put together Fake Screenshots big_smile

make sure you have Acceleration turned off, i used to have a issue like this when using XFCE compositing.

Maybe it would be a good idea to have a Maratis repository for Models, animations, and materials.

The Problem i see with using Google as the bug/progress tracker is that it only accepts entering Issues, and not feature requests or use cases. for this i think Github is much better suited.

I confirm that this also works on Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit

great job man big_smile greatly appreciate it, it simplifies it for the noobs like me big_smile

Is there a Plugin Repository for Maratis3D, like a single page where all the known plugins for Maratis can be viewed?

if not what are the challenges in creating one? maybe adding a section to the wiki, or the forum for users to post their plugins.

I would be nice to be able to just add a Black/White image and make it into a HeighMap to create a terrain right from the editor, also it would be awesome to do the same but paining the black or white areas with predefined objects (like trees, rocks, grass)

I know this can be done via plugin, but it would nicer if this comes there by default.

Is it possible to have the Editor to arrange the objects (entities) in hierarchy, hopefully the mockup screenshot i made makes clear what i would like to see.

So basically allowing the pareting option that currently exist on the Editor, to be more visual. but also allowing the user (like me) to expand and collapse objects to not have super cluttered object list.

That's a good idea. The full object list on my game scene with >1000 objects actually seems to lags on mac.

Anael any comments on when if possible could we see a feature like this?

Anael, I was wondering if you have Used Unity3D (the game engine not the ubuntu desktop) maybe some editor ideas from their editor can be implemented here to enhance the experience.

able to group objects (like my screeshot from a previous post on this topic)
able to pack objects
ability to apply different baked textures to objects
ability to splash/paint textures over objects (perfect for terrain)
there are many other ideas that can be implemented (also i would understand if you want to keep Maratis unique and not a copy o other engines)

the only advise i have is Try it on Blender 2.65.

When i began utilizing this Engine, i had 0 knowledge of lua or c++ ( i still dont know C or C++) but some basics were easy to grasp by following the tutorials here:

http://forum.maratis3d.com/viewtopic.php?pid=2754#p2754

and grabbing some of the examples on the main page of Maratis3d.com and analyzing the code. hope this helps.

Is it possible to add these tutorials to the main page, as part of the Tutorials menu? that way could be easier to find for new users. or curios users that stumble upon the website big_smile, and these are great tutorials to show some of what Maratis can do.

I will be downloading as soon as i get home big_smile thanks Anael big_smile
QQ why 3.1c and not 3.2? what's the criteria? Just kidding , thank you for the build big_smile

Thank you soooo much!! the recomendations unfortunatetly did not work with the APNG texture animation, however the Blender animation of the actual static texture did work for me big_smile

now I have what looks like still water in a lake (I mean it does move back and forth which is the effect i wanted to achieve).

Next up on my Question list, Texture Splatter with multiple textures But i will leave that for another thread if i cannot figure it out by weeks time.

Hello All,

I recently followed this Tutorial for blender on how to do Animated Water Texture (mainly the Nomal Map) http://vimeo.com/2685288, however when i export the resulting file to maratis all i get is a translucid mesh, but no normals, or even moving/animated texture.

the Material, is Standard set to use alpha
the textures are
the 1 slot has just a blue 256x256 image
the 3 slot has the moving/animated texture as shown in the tutorial

when i test this on Blender (with preview on GLSL mode showing textures) i see the moving translucent blue water.

I even tried to move the animated texture to the first slot, but still nothing.
